Another track only variant of the ultra-popular Mustang Shelby GT350R has been created by Ford Performance, officially dubbed the Shelby FP350S.

The model has been designed specifically for racing in Trans Am, NASA and SCCA club racing events and therefore isn’t street legal. It follows in the footsteps of the Shelby GT350R-C and GT4 revealed last year for the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge.

As with the road car, the FP350S is powered by a 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine developed by Ford Performance. It also includes numerous upgrades to improve its racing abilities, such as the implementation of a modified unibody chassis with seam welding, a six-point FIA-compliant roll cage, high-performance braking system and race-oriented suspension.

Additionally, Ford Performance has outfitted the racer with a modified six-speed Tremec manual transmission, 19×10.5-inch front and 19×11-inch rear wheels, optional exterior graphics, an adjustable carbon fiber rear wing, quick-release steering wheel and Sparco racing seat.

Order books for the model will open shortly at Ford dealerships across the United States.
