In between the European exotics and American muscle cars which fill his garage, Jay Leno also owns a variety of unique automobiles, none more so than his EcoJet.
The vehicle was created between the famous television host and General Motors and really is unlike any other car on four wheels. Alongside its distinct bodywork, it is powered by a Honeywell gas turbine that runs purely off bio-diesel and delivers 650 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque.
Even though the vehicle is a pure one-off, it is fully functional and to show off its performance credentials, Leno recently took it out on an abandoned runway with Neil DeGrasse to test out its speed potential.
Rather impressively, Leno managed to take the EcoJet up to 165 mph (265 km/h) and comments that it could go much faster. Unfortunately, the driver’s side window blew out at 130 mph but that didn’t seem to bother the noted car collector with him remaining incredibly calm and simply saying “lost a window.”
