Mazda’s latest MX-5 wears the ‘Arctic’ tag and comes with some cool visual updates.
Based on the SE-L Nav grade and equipped with the 131 PS (129 HP) 1.5-liter engine, the special edition is offered in a limited number of just 400 units in the United Kingdom, priced from £20,995 ($26,585).
All models get a Blue Reflex Metallic paintjob with contrasting bright silver cues, including the windscreen surround, side mirror caps, headrest hoops, and 16-inch alloy wheels.
For the money, the carmaker throws in leather seats, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and rear parking sensors, in addition to the chrome scuff plates and silver cup holder rings.
“We are delighted to offer another special version of the award-winning MX-5 convertible; we’ve had a long history of producing distinctive limited edition MX-5s that allow customers to drive a sports car with stand-out looks and enhanced standard equipment. The new MX-5 Arctic’s exclusive looks and great value mean it’s sure to be a popular choice when it arrives in dealerships early next year“, commented the Mazda Motors UK’s Managing Director, Jeremy Thomson.
This isn’t the first time that Mazda has used the Arctic label on the MX-5, as the second generation model got the same edition in 2005. Back then, it was offered in a choice of Sunlight Silver, Titanium Grey or Razor Blue paint, and standard equipment such as 15-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, heated dark blue leather seats, blue door inserts and chrome detailing on the window mountings.
