What do you when a driver of a car that’s twice as powerful as yours refuses to let you pass on the twisties while pulling ahead on the straights?
According to the video’s description, whoever was behind the wheel of that McLaren 675LT was even shown a blue flag in order to get out of the way of the more aggressive BMW driver, but every time the track opened up into somewhat of a straight, the McLaren blasted ahead.
The old BMW 135i’s 306 PS and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque were more than sufficient to push it to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.2 seconds before maxing out at its electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). Though against something as formidable as one of the world’s best supercars, there isn’t much hope with those types of numbers.
Speaking of which, the McLaren is more than twice as powerful, with 675 PS and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal. It will sprint to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and fly all the way up to 330 km/h (205 mph). It’s not just in a whole different league compared to the 135i, it’s a whole different ball game as well.
Still, the video is quite entertaining and we do hand it to the BMW driver for staying with the McLaren in the corners – though to be fair, the 675LT’s driver didn’t seem all that interested in pushing the limits of his car’s grip.
