Right after the launch of the new E-Class Coupe, reports have started flowing in about an AMG version that will allegedly be named the E50.

However, since the saloon’s range is topped by the mighty E63, it’s not unreasonable to assume that Mercedes could be working on such a version for the Coupe, too.

If this is the case, then this rendering by X-Tomi could give us a glimpse of things to come, with the Coupe adopting the Sedan’s front fascia, bumpers and rims.

The V8 biturbo badge on the front fenders obviously refers to the 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine that, like in the saloon, will most likely be offered in two outputs, with 563 HP and 603 HP, respectively, both mated to the 9-speed automatic transmission.

The E-Class Coupe will hit Merc’s showrooms in Europe and North America next summer; as for the AMG, it is expected to launch by the end of 2017.
