With the Dodge Challenger GT AWD, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has America’s only all-wheel drive muscle coupe in its arsenal and while its success has yet to be determined, FCA is understandably proud of it.
In the first commercial for the model, dubbed Russia, Dodge took the all-wheel drive Challenger to the wintry conditions of Alaska.
According to an old wives tale, there is a certain point in Alaska where you can almost see Russia and the commercial plays on this, saying that if that’s true, then Russia can certainly hear America thanks to the Challenger.
Discussing the model, FCA North America head of passenger cars Tim Kuniskis said “With its iconic muscle car design, 305 horsepower and all-wheel-drive capability, the new Dodge Challenger GT is now the most exciting all-weather daily driver – even if you live in Alaska. With the Challenger GT joining the Dodge Charger AWD, Dodge offers the only cars that combine that visceral muscle car attitude without sacrificing practicality and all-weather security.”
Beyond its all-wheel drive system that borrows components from the Charger, the Challenger GT AWD uses a 3.5-liter Pentastar V6 with 305 hp and 268 lb-ft of torque.
