As creepy as that title might sound, what we have here is Seat trying to fool everybody by disguising their all-new Ibiza as a Hyundai i20.
At first glance, they’re actually doing a good job, and we dare anyone out there to try and spot all the differences from a considerable distance.
However, once you “zoom in”, you can definitely make out the typical Seat LED-pattern underneath the headlight cover, plus the whole rear end is clearly fake so there’s no telling what’s really going on under there.
In other words, we may not know a lot about it in terms of design, but technically speaking, we do know it will ride on the same MQB platform that underpins the next VW Polo – and just like its German sibling, we’re likely to see a small Ibiza-based crossover as well.
Inside, we expect the new Ibiza to feature improved quality and the latest connectivity features seen as how the Spanish automaker has already confirmed they will be prioritizing in-car connectivity across their entire range.
As for engines, short of a quicker and hotter Cupra version, regular Ibizas should feature a range of new petrol and diesel units, which in turn will make it faster and more economical than the current model.
Seat’s all-new 2017 Ibiza should make an official appearance either early next year in Geneva or in Frankfurt next fall.
