It’s fair to say that, anything Ken Block touches turns to automotive and internet gold and in Top Gear season 23, he was behind one of the show’s best segments.
Although Block featured on Top Gear during the days of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond, even that didn’t come close to his feature a few months ago. With his insane Hoonicorn Mustang, Block took host Matt LeBlanc on a rather fast-paced sight-seeing tour through London and some of its most famous sights.
Recently uploaded on the Top Gear YouTube channel is an extended director’s cut of Block on the UK’s streets in a clip so epic that it is up there with his very best Gymkhana videos. Rather remarkably, numerous iconic London landmarks were shut down to allow Top Gear to film, including the streets of Canary Wharf, Buckingham Palace, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge and Westminster Bridge.
If season 24 of Top Gear features segments as epic as this and without Chris Evans in sight, it could prove a winner.
