Ferrari took the wraps off the stunning J50, which was created specifically to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the brand in Japan.
Essentially a Ferrari 488 Spider with a new body, tweaked interior and upgraded twin-turbo V8, the J50 will be produced in just 10 copies and we must say that from the press pictures, it looks like one of the most stunning modern-day Ferraris. As it turns out, it looks even better live.
The video below was filmed at the Japanese unveiling of the model and includes a detailed look at its bespoke exterior and includes snippets of audio with Andea Militello, a senior designer from the famed Italian automaker, talking about the J50’s breathtaking design.
Compared to the 488 Spider, the J50 is a targa and instead of using a folding metal roof, utilizes two removable carbon fiber targa panels that can be stored behind the seats. Every single body panel is unique and among the most noteworthy changes is the revised front end with thin headlights and a protruding splitter.
The rear is also rather special as it now has four taillights, rather than two, and includes two separate tailpipes.
