Driving a classic or modern Porsche racer has never been easier than with the brand’s latest pack for the racing game, Assetto Corsa.
Allowing enthusiasts to set new lap records from the comfort of their own homes, the range of vehicles extends from Porsche’s first racing cars, the 1960s 718 RS 60 Spyder, to the Le Mans legend of the 1980s, the 962 C, and the current 919 Hybrid LMP1 vehicle.
These machines are not just cool to look at, as the German company promises “realistic driving behavior”, following “unprecedented efforts to ensure” this. Their statement is backed up by the fact that Porsche’s engineers worked closely with Kunos Simulazioni, the Italian developers behind the racing simulator. Additionally, the automaker states that development documents and race logs were gathered from the archive at the Porsche Museum and analyzed in detail for the latest pack.
PC gamers can enjoy the third Porsche pack for Assetto Corsa, which brings the number of historical and modern vehicles to 24, as it celebrates its release today. However, owners of an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will need to wait until next month to get to drive some of the aforementioned racers.
