Ever wondered what it looks like when a car’s brake disc catastrophically fails? Well wonder no more as one crazy Finn has done just that and filmed it in glorious slow motion.
To create this cacophony of fire, flaming red steel and shattered brakes, the YouTuber jacked up the front of his 1990 Ford Fiesta after deciding the car was too slow to need to front brakes.
After sticking a piece of steel through the driver’s wheel, the passenger side front wheel is left to spin freely as he floors the throttle while keeping the brakes engaged. Before long, the disc heats up to insane temperatures and sparks and flames start to spew out of the caliper.
The disc then cracks in half and flies to the ground still red hot before the remaining pieces get jammed in the caliper and fall to the ground.
Although we hate to see cars get wrecked, this is strangely satisfying and certainly something you shouldn’t try at home.
