Alpine is coming back to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year, bringing along their production-ready A110 sports car. Ahead of it going on sale in 2018, the A110 will also make its dynamic UK premiere, blasting up the hill as part of Goodwood’s Supercar Run.
With a kerb weight of just 1,080 kg and an output of 252 PS (247 HP), the A110 has a power-to-weight ratio of 233 horses per tonne. As a result, the lithe coupe sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.5 seconds, before reaching its electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
The new A110 isn’t the only Alpine model coming to Goodwood this year. The automaker is also bringing its 1978 Le Mans-winning A442 B race car, together with the 1977 Alpine A310, itself very successful in French rallying as a Group 4 car. The Alpine A442 B was powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged V6 that enabled it to hit an impressive 223 mph (359 km/h) on the Mulsanne straight while setting the fastest ever lap time recorded by an Alpine car at La Sarthe.
As for the A310, it succeeded the smaller A110 back in 1971 and was fitted with a V6 engine in 1976, a year before the rally car’s championship success.
The 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed will open its gates next Thursday, June 29th.
