Mini will be showcasing its first ever plug-in hybrid model, the new Countryman PHEV, as well as the Clubman JCW and new Autohome roof tent at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Set to debut on June 24th, the Mini Cooper S E ALL4 Countryman PHEV will tackle the Goodwood Hill Climb, with Mini Challenge race car driver, Charlie Butler-Henderson behind the wheel.
The Countryman PHEV combines a 3-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor, producing just 49 g/km of CO2 while averaging 134.5 mpg, which is equal to 2.1l/100km (112 mpg US). It also has an all-electric range of 25 miles (40 km).
Visitors looking to relax during a race-packed weekend can check out the Mini Countryman Base Camp, situated close to Crossing 6 on the South side of the track. This is where they can experience the new Autohome roof tent, designed specifically for the Mini Countryman.
Back at the Mini stand, among the cars that will be on display is the recently launched Mini John Cooper Works Clubman, featuring an upgraded suspension, braking, cooling, fresh exterior styling and sporty interior features – such as sports seats, anthracite roofliner, stainless steel pedals and a JCW leather steering wheel.
Last but not least will be the Mini Challenge race car, fresh off competing in the Mini Challenge race series, which is one of Europe’s fastest-growing single-make racing championships.
This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed takes place between June 29th and July 2nd.
