VW has dropped yet another teaser of the new Polo ahead of its official debut on Friday, this time on video.
The new German supermini is expected to slightly grow in size and lose some weight, thanks to VW’s MQB A0 platform.
Other highlights will include a range of updated engines, a revised suspension setup and a wide range of new technologies previously unseen on a Polo, which might include the company’s semi-autonomous features, as used in the Golf.
The cabin is set to get a digital instrument display, a latest generation infotainment system, as well as a new layout with more vivid colors on offer, in order to boost its appeal to younger customers. Unlike the Seat Ibiza, Polo’s Spanish cousin, the new VW Polo will also be offered with both three- and five-door bodystyles.
As for the engine range, the new VW Polo will use the turbocharged three-cylinder 1.0-litre in various states of tune, as well as the new 1.5-litre TSI. There’s also going to be a 1.6-litre TDI option as well.
The new VW Polo will be officially revealed this Friday, June 16.
