Oscar Mayer is gearing up to celebrate the 4th of July by adding two new vehicles to its “WienerFleet” which currently consists of the Wienermobile, WienerMini, and WienerRover.
First up, the WienerCycle is a three-wheel moped which is described as “ideal for tricky urban deliveries.” The moped is powered by an 8.5 hp (6.3 kW) engine and it can hold up to eight hot dogs in its sidecar warming station.
Of course, the real coup de grâce is the new WienerDrone that is being billed as the world’s first “unmanned hot dog-carrying aircraft.” The drone can carry one hot dog at a time and it can travel up to 1 mile (1.6 km) at attitudes of 1,200 feet (365 meters).
The WienerFleet will soon be headed to Weiner, Arkansas where the company plans to host a 4th of July party for the town’s residents.
According to Oscar Mayer head of marketing Greg Guidotti, “We’re committed to getting our new hot dog in everyone’s hands – and going to great lengths to do this. We knew that was a job for more than just our existing Wienermobile so we’ve expanded our Oscar Mayer fleet, ensuring every American can taste the new recipe because we believe everyone deserves a better hot dog.”
