Porsche will finally reveal the hotly anticipated 911 GT2 RS this Saturday, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Although Porsche hasn’t said anything yet, an Instagram post from racing driver Leh Keen shows the new king of 911s resting under covers at the brand’s Goodwood stand, with a sign behind it reading: “The next chapter begins. 01.07.2017”.
Hopefully this time Porsche will share more information after the model’s surprise debut at the launch of the Forza Motorsport 7.
According to the latest reports, the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS will be offered in 1,000 examples, with the entire production run already sold out. Power will come from a twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat six engine that makes 700PS (690hp) and 553 lb-ft (750Nm) of peak torque and is mated exclusively to a seven-speed PDK transmission.
0-62mph (100km/h) will be completed in just 2.9 seconds, which is an astonishing achievement for a rear-driven car, with top speed set at 212mph (340km/h).
Stay tuned for all the official details in the coming days.
