As McLaren’s brand new Super Series model, the 720S is one of this year’s big automotive debuts, and this one here should be one of the very first customer cars.
Caught on camera by Autogespot user Dosmth, this red and black exotic is actually registered to the Principality of Monaco, which means that its owner either lives around those parts, or at least owns some property there, allowing him to keep his car on location. Parked in Casino Square, this 720 PS (710 HP) beast manages to stand out even next to an Aventador Roadster.
So what makes the 720S so special? Aside from its exterior and its extremely impressive power output, it’s also got 770 Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque from its redesigned twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. In a straight line, McLaren says it will hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 3 seconds (0-60 in 2.8), run a 1/4 mile in 10.3 seconds and max out at 212 mph (341 km/h).
Among its most noticeable features are the Variable Drift Control system, the Folding Driver Display, reprogrammed Proactive Chassis Control II system and revised electro-hydraulic power steering.
