BMW will reveal the all-new X3 today, at 9:30 EST, at its US-based Spartanburg plant where it will be produced.
Thanks to the company’s Hong Kong website, we got an early look on the new generation BMW X3, including the range-topping M40i version.
Powered by a turbocharged 3.0-litre straight six unit paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the 2018 BMW X3 M40i offers 355hp (360PS) and 500Nm (369 lb-ft) of peak torque.
0-62mph (100km/h) comes in 4.8 seconds, with the top speed traditionally limited to 155mph (250km/h). Combined fuel consumption is rated between 8.2 and 8.4 l/100km (equal to 28.0-28.7mpg US or 33.6-34.5mpg UK).
Apart from being roomier, the new BMW X3 will also benefit from the latest plug-in hybrid powertrains that combine a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol with an electric motor. The rest of the range will get a range of more efficient and more powerful four- and six-cylinder engines, both petrol and diesel.
Stay tuned for the full reveal of BMW’s all-new X3 at 09:30 EST/15:30 CEST on the link after the jump.
