Will there be an RS8 version of Audi’s new generation A8 that was unveiled just a few days ago? Probably not, but this hasn’t discouraged PeisertDesign from imagining what it could look like.
Notice the massive grille that features a new honeycomb pattern in black along with more aggressively styled bumpers on both ends, a new rear diffuser that incorporates the traditional ‘RS’ oval tailpipes, and bigger wheels. There’s also a contrasting carbon fiber roof, and ‘RS’ badges strapped to the grille and boot.
While there’s nothing certain about an Audi RS8, a performance version of the 2018 A8 is indeed in the books, and it will wear the S8 moniker.
An earlier report revealed that the brand with the four rings could turn to Porsche for power, adapting the Panamera Turbo’s powertrain. Doing so won’t be that hard, considering that the new A8 and the Panamera share the same platform, but it’s unknown how much power it will deploy.
There’s also word about an S8 Plus replacement, which could be known as the S8 E-Tron. It might use Porsche’s hybrid powertrain that currently makes 671hp in the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.
