Were you intrigued by the notion of owning your own NASCAR Sprint Cup racer when we brought that 2008 Toyota Camry stock car listing to your attention? Then this may prove even more tempting.
What we have here is a 2012 Ford Fusion stock car – complete with iconic STP livery in baby blue and red that you might consider the American equivalent of the Gulf livery.
While we don’t have all the details, this appears to be the very car that Aric Almirola drove for Richard Petty Motorsports in 2012, bearing not only The King’s famous color scheme but his number 43, too. Almirola didn’t win any races that season – he wouldn’t take his first Sprint Cup checkered flag until 2014 – but he did impress with the pole position that he took for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway that year, just edging out his teammate Marcos Ambrose.
Pedigree aside, Petty’s #43 STP Ford is a legend all on its own, and this one is going up for sale. Auctions America expects it’ll sell for about $50k when it drops the gavel in Auburn Fall, Indiana, next month.
