The Canadian market for new cars may not be anywhere near as big as the United States, but with annual sales approaching the two-million mark, it still typically ranks in or near the top ten globally. And that includes its share of high-end supercars.
Bugatti, for one, shows two dealers in the True North, Strong and Free – one in Vancouver, and another in Toronto. And the latter has just brought the new Chiron to show potential customers for the first time.
Though the multi-million-dollar exotic has already appeared at shows in both cities, Grand Touring Automobiles refers to this as “the Chiron’s first visit to this country.” Regardless, this appears to be the first time that prospective Canadian customers have had a chance to drive (or at least ride in) the Chiron and experience its 1,500 horsepower in person.
In typical Bugatti style, a couple dozen clients were invited to the Uptown showroom by individual appointment for “an exclusive opportunity for a very select group of dedicated and discerning enthusiasts to experience what many experts are calling the most powerful, the fastest and the most sophisticated sporting car in history.”
The dealer, who recently delivered the country’s first Lamborghini Centenario, says it has already taken orders for three out of “the very few Bugatti Chirons allocated to Canada.” The other dealership, Weissach Performance in Vancouver, will likely be staging a similar event soon and taking a few more for delivery on the West Coast (and even in Calgary), but we suppose that anyone in the racing capital of Montreal who wants a Chiron will need to order it through the Toronto dealer. And not for a small sum, either: the list price in Canada works out to over $3 million in equivalent US funds, and we’re assuming doesn’t come with snow tires included.
