After putting the final touches on the E-Pace that debuted last week, Jaguar is now focusing on the development of yet another model – a long wheelbase version of the XE.
Expected to be sold exclusively in China, where LWB versions are quite popular, the premium compact saloon has been spied testing at the Nurburgring recently.
Despite being covered in camo, it’s pretty much clear that its rear doors and third side window are a bit longer, with the longer wheelbase offering additional legroom on the rear bench, something that’s very appreciated among Chinese customers.
Besides the additional rear legroom, the stretched version of the Jaguar XE might also add an upgraded infotainment system at the rear, seats with massage function, window blinds, and foldable tables.
In the People’s Republic, the Jaguar XE L will be pinned against long wheelbase variants of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Audi A4, and BMW 3-Series, and might even be assembled locally just like its larger sibling, the XF L.
