It’s understandable that owners of the LaFerrari Aperta would want to show off their prized possession but these clips from the Gumball 3000 in Budapest show more stupidity than pride.
Reportedly owned and driven by Josh Cartu, the clip shows a white LaFerrari Aperta sitting in the left turn lane as he waits for several oncoming cars to pass. When there’s an opening, the driver floors it and does several donuts just feet from the crowd on a public road. The smoke from the tires eventually covers the street and thankfully the driver stops at this point.
The second clip shows this isn’t an isolated incident as the driver does this at least one more time, much to the anger of local police.
Stupid owners aside, the LaFerrari Aperta is an impressive and rare machine that was launched to commemorate Ferrari’s 70th anniversary. The car is powered by a 6.3-liter V12 engine and electric motor which enable it to produce a combined maximum output of 963 PS (708 kW). In terms of performance, the car accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than three seconds before hitting a top speed in excess of 350 km/h (217 mph).
