Lexus is working on a longer, seven-seat version of its RX SUV, which is bound for reveal at the Tokyo Motor Show later this year. The company filed trademarks for the RX350L and RX450hL earlier this year, indicating its intentions, Autocar reports.
Together with the extended version of the RX, Lexus will also reveal the production version of the UX Concept, which will sit underneath the current NX and RX models.
Lexus has already trademarked the names UX200, UX250 and UX250h. The production UX is expected to feature a less aggressive design than the concept, but it will retain the spindle grille and the angular styling of the company’s latest models.
When the concept debuted at the last Paris Motor Show, Johan Van Zyl, President and CEO of Toyota and Lexus in Europe, said: “This UX concept is all about anticipation and Lexus’ unparalleled knowledge in the SUV market. We are ready for the next chapter of a bolder [looking] Lexus SUV – the UX concept.”
