With prices starting in excess of $300k and a production rate at about a sixth of the Continental’s, the Bentley Mulsanne is anything but common. And with a head-spinning array of customization options, there’s no reason for any two to leave the factory exactly the same.
But for those looking for something different than what the factory offers, Mansory has come out with a range of enhancements for the big luxury sedan.
For starters, Mansory has tweaked the giant 6.75-liter V8 to produce 585 metric horsepower, which trumps the “base” model’s 512 and eclipses even the Mulsanne Speed‘s 537. With 811 lb-ft of torque, it also matches the Speed’s twist and leaves the standard version’s 752 in the dust. The result, according to the tuner, is a 0-62 time of 5.0 seconds and a top speed approaching 190 miles per hour. Not bad for a 2.6 metric tons of leather and wood, even if it still somehow lags behind the Mulsanne Speed’s official figures.
Of course the modifications don’t end there. They also include 22-inch alloys, visible carbon-fiber aero elements, and all kind of interior choices as well. Whether they constitute an improvement or not is a matter of individual taste, which we’re sorry to say doesn’t always come with the financial wherewithal to purchase such an opulent mode of transportation.
