If you’re a) a comic book fan and b) an automotive enthusiast, you can’t have missed this Corvette. Known as Lola, it’s the classic roadster that Agent Coulson drives in Marvel‘s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. And it can be yours, if you place the right bid.
Out of 14,531 Corvettes that Chevy made in 1962, this is one of only 1,918 equipped that year with fuel injection. But its celebrity status with a starring role in one of Marvel’s most popular superhero TV shows may garner it more attention.
The fictitious story has Coulson inheriting the car from his father, the two having bonded over its upkeep in his childhood. And thanks to Howard Stark, it’s packed with enhancements – from an early GPS system and bulletproof windshield to machine guns in the headlights and the ability to fly.
In reality, of course, this classic ‘Vette has none of those features. But this cherry of a specimen does come with a factory hardtop, power brakes, AM radio, and 5.4-liter V8 engine. Best of all, its coming up for grabs at the upcoming Auctions America sale in Auburn, Indiana, late next month, where it’s estimated to sell for upwards of $70,000.
