Skoda has launched new petrol engine versions for the SE Tech Octavia and Superb hatch and estate models.
Currently available for fleet customers in the United Kingdom, these include the 1.0-liter TSI, rated at 115PS (113hp), which works together with a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox to allow the Octavia Estate to reach 62mph (100km/h) in 10.2sec.
Customers can also buy the 1.4-liter TSI with 150PS (148hp), coming with either a manual or a DSG transmission, while from July 26, the Czech automaker will launch a new 1.5-liter engine, with active cylinder technology (ACT). It will be available with a manual gearbox at first, but the DSG variant will arrive this fall.
The larger Skoda Superb can also be had with the 1.4-liter TSI unit that delivers 150PS (148hp). In this flavor, the car needs less than 9 seconds to reach 62mph (100km/h), from a standstill.
Standard features in both models include the 8-inch touchscreen navigation system, SmartLink+, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Maxi-Dot trip computer, and a range of driver assist systems, including the Front Assist with Pedestrian Protection.
