Smart and Brabus are celebrating the 15th anniversary of their joint-venture by unveiling a new special edition.
Available as a ForTwo coupe and cabrio, the 15th anniversary edition features a unique “anniversary silver” exterior with a front spoiler, revised side skirts, and a rear diffuser. The model also has faux carbon fiber mirror caps, a tinted third brake light, and 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels.
The unique styling continues in the cabin as designers added brown leather sport seats with diamond quilting and silver accents. Drivers will also find a perforated leather steering wheel, an individually-numbered aluminum gear knob, and 15th anniversary floor mats. Rounding out the changes are faux carbon fiber trim, anniversary silver accents, and stainless steel door sill plates.
Under the hood, three different engines are available. The entry-level model has an 898cc three-cylinder that produces 90 PS (66 kW) and 135 Nm (99 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 11.3 seconds before hitting a top speed of 155 km/h (96 mph).
The model can also be equipped with an upgraded version of the same engine that develops 109 PS (80 kW) and 170 Nm (125 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the extra power, the model runs from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 9.5 seconds before topping out at 165 km/h (102 mph).
Last but not least, the electric variant has 81 PS (60 kW) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque. This setup allows the car to run from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 11.5 seconds and max out at 130 km/h (80 mph).
The Smart-Brabus 15th anniversary edition is currently available to order and the first deliveries are slated to occur later this year. Production will be limited to 150 units so interested buyers better act fast.
