A month and a half ago, Audi revealed the latest version of its R8 flagship supercar. It’s taken until now for us to get a chance to see it in the metal, but here it is.
The new R8 Spyder V10 Plus is now on display at the Audi Forum in the automaker’s home town of Ingolstadt, resplendent in a suitably super shade of red with a silver windshield frame and red-stitched black leather interior.
The top topless R8 packs a 5.2-liter V10 under its rear deck, good for 610 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque – channeled to all four wheels for a 0-62 run of 3.3 seconds and a top speed quoted at 204 Autobahn-crunching miles per hour.
The Spyder Plus stands as the Four-Ring marque’s most expensive model at €207,500. But as our friends at Motor1.com point out, this one appears to be equipped with added features like 20-inch gloss-black alloys and laser headlights that add an extra few thousand euros to the ticket. At that rate, you’re already delving well into Lamborghini territory, where the Huracan (in its base 580-2 coupe form) starts at €178,500.
