Consumers can’t seem to kick their addiction to trucks and crossovers and that trend has apparently spilled over to the classic vehicle market.
According to Hagerty, the 1945–1968 Dodge Power Wagon and the 1966–1977 Ford Bronco are some of the most sought after classics at the moment with “an adjusted HVR (Hagerty Vehicle Rating) of 95 points.”
The report goes on to say trucks and SUVs claim 12 of the top 25 spots on the list and Broncos are particularly popular as three different generations are in the top 25.
The Jeep CJ-7 has always been popular with buyers but its stock has fallen recently. The model takes the 5th spot on the list after claiming first and second place on four different occasions. According to Hagerty Valuation Information Analyst Jesse Pilarski, the CJ-7 is “falling into line” as “both insurance activity and quoting activity took a step backward over the last two months.”
Other notable trucks and SUVs on the list include the 1973-1987 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup, the 1973-1979 Ford F-Series, the 1960-1966 Chevrolet C/K Series, and the 1969-1972 Chevrolet C/K Blazer. Jeep will also be happy to know the CJ-8 Scrambler tied for 11th place as the company is preparing to launch a modern day successor in the form of a Wrangler Pickup.
