From an affordable supermini such as the Ford Fiesta to the ‘Ring record-breaker Lamborghini Huracan Performante, we’ve all seen video reviews about cars that are actually fun to drive rather than just taking you from point A to point B.
And while buying the latter is impossible for us mortals, the former can be had for a more down-to-earth price. But what if that’s also too expensive?
Well, in this case, you’d have to turn to the used car market for an older Volkswagen Passat diesel, which is still good to drive, comfortable, and economical, and it will come home with you for approximately £5,000 ($6,600). Or you could spend about the same on a sports car that used to cost almost 10 times as much back when it was still new.
This could land you a BMW Z4, Porsche Boxster, or a Mazda RX-8, to name a few, but watch out before signing the papers, because choosing with your heart rather than your brain could be the difference between enjoying it every weekend, or spending countless nights on the internet, searching for viable repairs of various parts.
