The World Rally Championship may not attract the viewership of Formula One but the sport is arguably just as exciting, if not more so.
Home to the world’s best drivers hitting mind-blowing speeds just inches from trees, rocks and cliffs, WRC is certainly one of the toughest and most dangerous motorsport championship’s on earth. It can also be one of the most spectacular.
At the recent Rally Finland 2017, Norwegian rally driver Mads Østberg sent his 2017 Ford Fiesta WRC car flying off a massive jump without a care in the world. He flew an incredible 164 feet (50 meters) before touching down and continuing on his merry way, all while being just a single mistake away from an horrific crash.
On the stage, this jump is known as the Yellow Horse jump and has produced some even more spectacular images in the past. As a matter of fact, Sebastien Ogier flew 187 feet off the jump back in 2012 and somehow walked away without even the most minor of injuries.
