If you’re in the market for a small, yet spacious city car, brushing over the Hyundai i10 might actually be a mistake.
While the A-segment can be pretty competitive In Europe, the Hyundai i10 has been doing very well for itself in terms of sales, mixing it up with the likes of the Toyota Aygo, Renault Twingo, Kia Picanto, VW Up! and so on.
According to Carwow’s Mat Watson, the i10 is the type of small car that will genuinely surprise you on multiple levels. From how practical the cabin is, to how incredibly spacious the rear seats are. Apparently, if you’re around 6-feet tall, you’ll have plenty of knee and headroom.
On the road, you do need to downshift quite a bit in order to overtake at speed – and this is regardless of which engine option you go for. So whether you’ve got the 1.0-liter 66 PS petrol or the 1.2-liter 87 PS petrol, you shouldn’t expect much in terms of performance.
What you can expect however is a fun ride, around town and around corners, says Watson, who was pleasantly surprised by how well the i10 handled. What he didn’t like were the jerky brakes, but other than that, the car did very well on the road.
Right now, UK buyers can purchase an entry-level i10 for just £8,995. It looks like you’d be getting a lot of car for the price of nine flagship iPhones.
