While the Mercedes-AMG GT S is one of the quickest and most popular cars right now, you really do need to cheat in order to outrun a hypercar in one.

Remember back in the first Fast and Furious movie when Dom talked about 10 second cars? “For those ten seconds or less, I’m free” – said the now apparently indestructible character.

Well, he would have loved himself a Veyron in that case, since that’s exactly what the Bugatti is, a car that will run a 1/4 mile in roughly 10 seconds flat, unlike the AMG GT S, which needs more than 11 seconds to do it in perfect conditions.

The Mercedes relies on 510 PS (503 HP) in order to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds, with 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque providing the pull. In other words, it’s got half the power of the Veyron, while weighing less by only about 245 kg (540 lbs).

Sure, it’s a big difference in weight if you want to get technical, but not big enough to offset the massive difference in power, which is delightfully evident in the video below.
