Long before moving under Volkswagen Group’s roof, Seat was allowed to produce their own version of the Fiat 600, a city car whose roots spread to the modern-day 500.
Baptized the Seat 600, it recently turned 60, so the Spanish automaker celebrated its birthday by restoring a Convertible.
However, there’s a big gap between the stock model and this track-ready machine, which was converted into an Abarth back in 2003, using only original Scorpion-badged parts. Among the things changed are its exterior, exhaust, and carburetor.
It also had its power increased, to 69PS (68hp), which might not be impressive at all, but combined with the stripped out interior, fitted with bucket seats, and roll cage, in addition to other mods, have transformed it into a TCR racer.
Its racing days are over, but the car remains in a solid state, and with only 7,740km (4,809 miles) on the odo, it really is almost brand new.
The good news is that if you favor it so much, then you could buy it, straight from VOS, which are asking for €17,900 ($21,435) to let it go. So, what will it be – this Seat 600 Abarth racer, or a new mid-range Ford Focus?
