The first official teaser video of the Genesis G70 sports sedan has been released before the vehicle’s global premiere in Seoul, South Korea on September 15.

Sadly, the teaser doesn’t offer a single glimpse at the car and instead has narration from the brand’s chief, Manfred Fitzgerald and some glamorous black and white footage of Seoul.

During the video, Fitzgerald explains that the automaker has opted to reveal the new car in its home city rather than at a major international motor show in an effort to give back to its fans and to celebrate its heritage. With that being said, attendees at December’s Los Angeles Auto Show could very well see the G70 in the flesh.

As we know, the G70 will share many of its components with the Kia Stinger but it will be slightly more compact and potentially, even more dynamic. It will go up against the Audi A4, BMW 3-Series, Jaguar XE and their like.

Power is expected to come from the Stinger’s twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 with 365 hp and 376 lb-ft (494 Nm) of torque.
