Described as “the most comprehensively equipped model in the range”, the new Edition model has joined the sixth generation Volkswagen Transporter lineup.
Prices start from £28,990 ($39,361) for the panel van, and £30,620 ($41,574) for the kombi, in the United Kingdom, without tax, and the special edition is based on the Highline model.
Additional equipment includes the high-gloss roof and side mirror casings, ‘Edition’ decals, blacked-out LED taillights, and 17-inch Cascavel black diamond surfaced alloy wheels, on the 150PS (148hp) versions, or 18-inch Springfield black alloy wheels, on the 204PS (201hp) models.
Customers can choose from five different colors – Candy White, Grape Yellow, Cherry Red, Indium Grey, and Onyx White, and they will also get to enjoy the LED headlights, Discover Media Navigation system with App-Connect, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, and others. Front Assist and City Emergency Braking are offered as standard.
Both models can be specified with a 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine that comes in two outputs, as mentioned above – 150PS (148hp) and 204PS (201hp). The units are equipped with a standard six-speed manual gearbox, or with an optional seven-speed DSG.
Volkswagen will start shipping the first units in November.
