With Frankfurt Motor Show and its myriad debuts approaching fast, Renault reminds us with yet another teaser that they will also be there with the new Megane R.S.
The video shows Renault F1 driver Nico Hulkenberg taking the new Megane R.S. for a spin at Spa-Francorchamps, allowing us to listen the new French hot hatch at full chat.
The latest reports suggest that the new Megane R.S. will use Alpine’s turbocharged 1.8-liter petrol, instead of the previously reported 2.0-liter unit. Power is expected to be around 300hp, with Renault to offer both a six-speed manual and a dual-clutch transmission.
Customers will be offered a choice between two chassis versions: a standard Sport chassis which will be tuned towards everyday driving and the hardcore Cup chassis which will target track enthusiasts. Four-wheel steering is expected to be part of both versions.
The new Renault Megane R.S. is expected to reignite the hot-hatch wars with its arrival, going up against rivals like the Honda Civic Type-R, the VW Golf R and the also upcoming Hyundai i30 N.
