Porsche is continuing to put the final touches on the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS and recently brought a number of pre-production vehicles to the Nurburgring.
What’s most interesting about the video below are the colors of these RS models. One is painted Racing Yellow, one Guards Red, another GT Silver Metallic, the fourth Black and most impressively, Miami Blue, the first time we’ve seen the 700 hp 911 in this color.
2018 GT2 RS prototypes have been testing at the Nurburgring for well over a year and it seems inevitable that the German brand will look to set a sub-7-minute lap time in the car. Heck, for all we know, the car may have already set a lap record but Porsche has yet to announce anything.
In early July, Porsche Motorsport boss Frank-Steffen Walliser said the car will lap the circuit in under 7 minutes but failed to specify if it would beat the 6:57 of the Porsche 918 Spyder. If a record for a globally-homologated road car is in the carmaker’s sights, the GT2 RS will need to beat the 6 minute 52 second lap of the Lamborghini Huracan Performante.
