Porsche Mission E To Start At About $85,000

The Porsche Mission E will cost approximately $85,000 when sales commence by the end of 2019, Car Magazine reports.

Revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show two years ago, the Mission E is in its final stages of development and company chairman Oliver Blume says it will slot between the Panamera and 911.

When the Mission E arrives on the market, it will be Porsche’s first all-electric vehicle and will be offered in a range of specifications with different power outputs. There’s also a chance it could be offered in different bodystyles sometime next decade.

Porsche has yet to say what will power the Mission E but the concept had a total of 600 hp on tap. However, considering the developments in battery and electric motor technology between 2015 and the vehicle’s launch, it could very well have more power than that.

Whatever the case may be, 0-62 mph (100 km/h) will be achieved in less than 3.5 seconds and a top speed of over 155 mph (250 km/h) inevitable.

Like the concept, the production model will have a fast-charge feature which will see the battery topped up to 80 per cent in less than a quarter of an hour.

“With 350kW fast-charging, this will be a reality. It will be enough for a 400km (250-mile) range on an 80% charge,” Blume said.
