For something that has four doors, enough room in the back for two or three adults plus a spacious boot, keeping up with a Nissan GT-R, let alone beating it over a 1/4 mile, can be considered a solid achievement.
Surrounding the Nissan in this particular case is an Audi RS7 Performance, and the new Mercedes-AMG E63 S. Both of these four-door bruisers match up very well in terms of power, although the Mercedes does have more torque.
On paper, the E63 S will hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.4 seconds, whereas the RS7 needs an extra 0.3 seconds. Furthermore, both models feature all-wheel drive, so getting off to a good start shouldn’t be difficult.
Still, are they quick enough to challenge the Nissan GT-R? The answer is certainly, yes. All three cars crossed the 1/4 mile finish line in a little over 11 seconds, so the race was very close despite one car jumping out to an early lead.
Bet some of you changed your minds over which car you thought was going to win at least once during the drag race. Then again, if you called it from the beginning – hat’s off to you.
