The BMW M4 GTS is overpriced and some would say even underpowered, while the orange trims aren’t exactly doing it any favors.
Nevertheless, BMW enthusiasts have loved it and some say it drives well enough to be mentioned in the same breath as the E46 M3 CSL. Clearly then, BMW, like many of its competitors, can find buyers for practically any high-performance sports car at any price, even if the result is a little ‘boy racer’ for some.
Thankfully, the owner of an M4 GTS in the U.S. has managed to make the stripped-down two-door slightly more appealing thanks to some aftermarket tweaks.
Most significantly, the car now sits on a set of shoes from HRE Wheels, specifically the R101 LW. They’re painted gloss black, measure 20×8.5 at the front and 20×10.5 at the rear and offset the matte black paint scheme nicely. They also look worlds apart from the car’s standard orange and silver wheels
The owner has also equipped the GTS with an aftermarket rear wing which is slightly taller than the standard unit. It looks reasonable although we think the car would look better without a wing at all.
