Off-road racing trucks are built to handle all kinds of mayhem. But what about a 180-degree jump off the loading dock right where they’re made?
That’s what the guys at Hoonigan set out to find out in the latest episode of Daily Transmission, where they swing by Brenthel Industries in Murrieta, California – in between LA and San Diego, just north of Temecula.
The Brenthel brothers build all manner of off-road vehicles, from military-spec buggies to full-on Trophy trucks. Of course, as with any type of racing, you don’t just jump into a 900-horsepower Trophy truck right off the bat. What we have here is a 6100-class spec truck that has most of the same components as a Trophy, but with 500 horses on tap to make it a little more manageable, especially for beginners.
This one had just come back from a grueling rally through the Nevada desert, but Jonathan and Jordan Brenthel didn’t hesitate to take it for a spin – and we do mean a spin – around the back lot of their factory.
The resulting thirteen-minute clip won’t be for everyone. In fact, watching it, we’re amazed no one was hurt in its filming. But if you like watching a bunch of adrenaline junkies scream their heads off while a couple of bros do some stupid stuff in a confined space with people around, you’ll love this.
