VW Group is holding a pre-Frankfurt event where we’ll get the chance to see the company’s newest models live for the first time.
For the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, VW is getting ready for three global premieres: the all-electric I.D. family, which includes the reworked I.D. Crozz concept, the VW T-Roc, a compact SUV set to go against the likes of the Nissan Juke and the VW Polo GTI, the third member of the GTI family.
The new VW I.D. Crozz concept will preview an all-electric SUV that’s slated for production in 2020. Riding on VW’s bespoke-for-EVs architecture, the previous version of the concept used a pair of electric motors for a total of 302hp, fed by a 83kWh battery pack.
The new VW T-Roc is arguably one of the most important new models the company is about to launch. The new compact SUV enters one of the hottest segments in the market, with VW promising a price tag of around 20,000 euros in its home market (around $24k in current exchange rates).
The third premiere is the hottest version of the new VW supermini, the Polo GTI. For the first time in its history, VW will have on offer three GTI models in the range, with the new Polo GTI sitting between the Up GTI and the Golf GTI.
Then we have new models and concepts from the rest of the brands, including Audi, Bentley, Porsche, Skoda and Seat, so get ready from plenty of metal to parade in front of your screens. VW’s preview event will go live at 13:00 ET (7:00PM CEST).
