You probably won’t be able to tell the difference between these scale models and the real Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² just by looking at the pictures.
However, that’s the whole purpose behind making miniatures of full-blown vehicles, and for these, the German automaker teamed up with model car specialist GT Spirit, which was given the original design data for the development of these models.
Scaled down to 1:18, the shrunken Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4²s can be had in eight special colors: Diamond White, Electric Beam, Tektite Grey, Mauritius Blue, Sunset Beam, Alien Green, Tomato Red, and Galactic Beam. Only 463 copies of each color will be made, and all of them will be numbered ‘X of 463’ on the bottom.
Mercedes-Benz claims that the miniature G-Class models consist of up to 100 parts, and they stay true to the hairy-chested off-roader in more than one way, as they benefit from the perforated metal under the front apron, the 4×4² logo added to the rims, and the overall level of detail, which is described as “extremely high”.
The manufacturer doesn’t say how much each limited edition version of the Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² scale model costs, but they’re probably just a tad more expensive than the usual toys listed by GT Spirit for €99,90 ($117.25).
