Continental has just unveiled an intriguing concept aimed at previewing how cars may look in the future when electric, autonomous and ride-sharing technologies become the norm.
Dubbed the Bee, an acronym for Balanced Economy and Ecology mobility concept, the vehicle is exceptionally small and consists of not much more than four wheels, a windshield and transparent door and roof panels.
Powering the Continental Bee is a compact electric motor that offers a range of up to 218 miles (350 km) and a 37 mph (60 km/h) top speed. The tire manufacturer believes it could have thousands of Bees operating in a single city with users ordering a ride through a dedicated smartphone app.
Continental is still working on the project but appears confident that something like this could become a reality in the future.
