Earlier this year, a Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Ford commercial inadvertently showed what appeared to be a new 2018 Ford Mustang Bullitt in a behind-the-scenes segment.
The people shooting the video were sitting in front of some sketchboards featuring a dark green Mustang with two-tone wheels, a de-badged grille and a fake gas cap. Bullitt Edition anybody?
It would appear those assumptions weren’t wrong, with this Ford window sticker courtesy of Mustang6G pointing to the Bullitt S550 Mustang being real and based on the 2018 Mustang GT model.
According to the sticker, the 2018 Bullitt Mustang will be offered in ‘Highland Green Metallic’, which should remind everybody of the classic Bullitt Mustang’s ‘Dark Highland Green’ colorway.
It will also feature rear window louvers, a rear faux gas cap and a 5.0-liter Coyote V8, paired to Ford’s new 10-speed automatic transmission – either as standard or as an optional extra.
This new-generation Bullitt Mustang will mark the third time Ford has turned the famous Steve McQueen-driven car into a limited production model, after one attempt back in 2001, and another one with the fifth-generation model from 2008-2009.
