Bringing the McLaren P1 GTR and the Aston Martin Vulcan together on an empty track became a reality and we finally get to see how the one compares to the other.
These are track-only cars, unable to receive a registration for the public road and in a way represent the absolute best in terms of performance McLaren and Aston Martin can offer.
The P1 GTR is basically the unhinged version of the normal P1, as normal a P1 can be. McLaren tuned its hybrid powertrain for a total of 1000PS (986hp) while stripping away all of its clever aero for a real motorsport agenda, complete with winglets, splitters, a fixed rear wing and a massive rear diffuser.
The Aston Martin Vulcan on the other hand was designed from scratch as a race car, albeit one that isn’t eligible for any racing series. This super-machine is powered by a more traditional 7.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 with 820hp.
These British superstars use a very different recipe but have the same goal: to absolutely destroy any track they find themselves on. Which does it better? Find out in DriveTribe’s latest video.
