Nissan has used its Futures 3.0 event to show an image of the upcoming Leaf Nismo concept.
Little is known about the model but the image shows the concept has been equipped with a new front bumper that features larger air intakes and LED fog lights. The car also has a red front lip spoiler, a black hood applique, and unique alloy wheels. Rounding out the changes are a contrasting black roof and red accents on the side skirts.
The concept is expected to debut at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month and Autocar reports Nissan Senior Vice President of Global Design Alfonso Albaisa has already confirmed plans for a production model. At the time, Albaisa said the Leaf Nismo will appeal to style conscious buyers and noted it will be easy to develop parts for the vehicle.
Unveiled earlier this year, the redesigned Nissan Leaf has a 40 kWh lithium-ion battery pack which powers an electric motor that develops 147 hp (109 kW) and 236 lb-ft (319 Nm) of torque. It enables the model to travel approximately 150 miles (241 km) on a single charge.
