Ford is set on taking extra care of the facelifted Mustang GT, which can now be fitted with the Performance Pack Level 2 as well.
The bundle of upgrades resembles what was already being offered with the current Performance Pack, while adding a number of cool features.
Engineers and designers paid extra attention to the exterior, which benefits from a front splitter that’s said to create about 24lbs (11kg) of downforce at 80mph (129km/h), as well as a redesigned rear spoiler.
Additionally, the pony car also has improved steering and custom-tuned MagneRide dampers, while the rear stabilizer bar, front stabilizer bar, front springs and rear springs are 67, 12, 20, and 13 percent stiffer, respectively, compared to those offered with the Performance Pack Level 1.
Finally, the new 19-inch wheels, shod in 305/30 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, along with that custom suspension, bring the Ford Mustang GT more than half-inch (13mm) closer to the asphalt.
As expected, Ford’s new Performance Pack Level 2 can only be had with a manual transmission, which could make the car even more desirable in the eyes of petrol heads.
There’s currently no word on how much owners will have to spend to benefit from these new features, which are already available for order and will reach showrooms across North America next spring. However, they should expect this new kit to be slightly more expensive than the Performance Pack Level 1, which can be had from $4,000.
